The dilemma of good and bad

Hi my friends,

Along the course of your day to day work, have you ever realized what the most precious object in this world is for you?
We have many objects of value such as children, partner, family, friends, or property.

The most precious of them all is something else; it is your own existence, your life.

The life is a puzzle in itself. We have not asked for it, we suddenly realize we are here
with a life of our own, and we realize there are nice things we can do with it, and there we go with the flow taking control of as much things as possible within our reach.

Very few ever wonder the long and short of this given moment, or take a step back to see the big picture of life and wonder what the best use we can do with this life.

It’s true we got our life free of charge, but that does not mean we get to see the best of life and all its hidden wonders free of charge included in the same package. It requires some innovation and inquisition from our part to find out the wonders life holds for us.

Because although life is a freebie, it’s a toy with a complex mechanism, if you do not read the manual carefully, well the worst is you can make a big mess out of it, or the least is you can just put it up on a showcase just for the show of it, without really knowing what the real use of it is.

So where is the manual? How can we read it? Is it the Bible or the Thripitaka or Qu’ran or anything like that? You may wonder.

Well my friends, those books can give you clues as to where the manual is, but the real manual is right there within you. Life comes with its manual packed right inside the box and it’s up for you to grab it.

Now all these may sound little too mystic may be, leading nowhere, just words to impress. But this is the truth, life demands sometime for comprehending its functions from its owner, and this personal time should be part of anyone’s life to make life something meaningful.

Having said that, let me move on to our subject of good and bad.

What I am going to enter into now is deep waters, right from the very core of the manual of life, and not everyone may be able to appreciate what is said without some familiarity with the manual itself.

Good and bad are two notions that hold the world in awe and in turn many lives in its captivity.

Taking note of the dominance of the two notions in the world many decide to devote their lives for the promotion of good and avoidance of bad.

There is nothing wrong with it at all, the dominance of the notions of good and bad was an all time phenomenon throughout history and in the manual of life doing good holds a special place for adding value to life.

But if you meet up the creator – what the manual of life states as the ultimate purpose of life tool –  the porter at the door will first take off all your judgments of both good and bad.  The creator will not be ready to see you in your judgments of what is good and what is bad, because he is of unconditional love and acceptance for all!

Now when you come back from that appointment you will have turned into a totally new self where you see both good and bad as relative. None of it holds substantial value.

This is a world vision like no other, this is the ultimate liberation of self, the consummation of your spiritual journey. The person in this level can feel for the most discredited and wretched souls on this earth as well as the most saintly and highly praised ones.

Because he knows the same creator is behind both. He will not refuse to see a criminal because he is an outlaw, or a fraudster because he is detested by everyone. That sure is a way too high of a position for the normal man to comprehend. And the man of creator by the way is always ready to see the normal men and women with the same acceptance.

Good is a social convention, a widely known social phenomenon and has its value in relation to the norms of the community where it is found. Bad is a social convention as well and has its value in relation to the community where it is found. Both good and bad are not so in their own right, and they have their values ascribed by the society. This would be a good starting point for someone who is concerned about the widespread ‘bad’ prevalent in a society.

Instead in the world of the creator, there are actions and reactions, and they have nothing to do with good or bad. The certain action will produce a certain reaction and the certain other action will produce certain other reaction. In the creators hall all actions and reactions become one, and the same unity of oneness prevails there over all.

The practical sense of this higher teaching – which may not be to the taste of all until you are there – is, the one who met the creator and who has discovered the wonders of life does not differentiate between a saint and a criminal as both are children of the same creator, in whose realm he has already entered.

Not judging people and actions as either good or bad he stays unmoved by what is happening around him; he is not appalled by some happenings and not exhilarated by others; no one is able to deceive him, threaten him or scare him by using combinations of good and bad. Instead he can appreciate the wonder of creation presenting itself everywhere around him. If someone tries to use good and bad to move him, he sees the whole picture as it is rather than only the frames shown, and makes his decisions according to the whole picture.

Unperturbed is he who is grounded on no-judgments, and unhindered is his love and understanding of the others whether they are defamed or celebrated. And he has discovered the preciousness of life for what it is.

Thanks my friends,

Cham
